Come along and have a go at making a short animated film or just watch and see what people are doing.
We held an 8 week animation course at the hub in February and March of 2017 where Virpi from Kettu Studios, one of the animators behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, taught two groups whose films were then shown as part of the Settle Stories Festival of Happiness last May and they will also be shown as part of Settle Stories festival this April.
We had so much fun doing the course we have decided to organise these regular drop-ins so we can continue to meet up and encourage others to have a go at making a short film themselves. Between us we have some cameras and editing software but you can easily make some simple films using a mobile phone and free apps. So come along, have a look at the films we made and get inspired to make your own. We have plenty of plasticine, colourful paper and other things that are useful for film making.
This is a drop-in event so come at any time between 10am and 4pm but please book if you plan to join us so we have an idea of numbers. No offiicial charge but a donation to the hub would be much appreciated.
Have a look at our our blog page to see a couple of the animations we made which were shown at the Festival of Happiness in Victoria Hall in Settle.
Are there minimum age requirements for the workshop?
No but children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Either email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, drop in to the Hub on Tuesdays 10-4 or Fridays 12-5 or phone us on 07977 040329.
